Beirut Friday Parayer leader: Lebanese should join hands in fighting against terrorist

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - His Eminence, Sayyed Ali Fadlullah, delivered the two Friday prayer sermons at the Imamain Al-Hassanain Mosque, Rabi II 21th 1435 H. – February, 21st 2014. Several prominent religious scholars, dignitaries and thousands of believers attended the Jumu’a prayer.Following is a summary:The First SermonIn the first sermon, His Eminence, Sayyed Ali Fadlullah, talked about the remembrance (Thikr) of Allah. He explained that it constitutes a remedy for our psychological and spiritual illnesses, yet only when it comes from the heart and not merely the tongue. The Sayyed further explained that remembering Allah means, according to Imam As-Sadiq, obeying Him even if one’s prayers, fasting and the recitation of the Quran are at a minimum. He maintained that we ought to remember Allah at all times and in all situations, for we remember Him for our sake, so as to remain aware of the straight path He drew for us and to remember, no matter how much difficulties and pains we experience, that there is a merciful God who is looking after us…The second sermonIn the second sermon, His Eminence, Sayyed Ali Fadlullah, talked about the criminal targeting of innocent people in Lebanon, which cannot be justified by any criterion.Such a situation demands that all politicians, religious scholars, journalists and social activists join hands in fighting this terrorist logic. He added that we ought to abandon exchanging accusations and discussing who is right or wrong for this discussion should be restricted to dialogue, whether in the cabinet or some another institution. As for the new government, the Sayyed said that we will not ask it to do what is over its potentials and beyond its reach, but we want it to make every effort to deal with all the accumulated and urgent issues. This should be done away from any sectarian or political calculations, for the minister represents the entire country and not his sect or party. In Syria, the Sayyed said that he had wished that the second round of Geneva would have led to some positive results, but it has become clear that the regional and international parties do not want the crisis to end. Therefore, we should put our stakes on finding an atmosphere for a Syrian – Syrian dialogue that would open the way for a final resolution./149
