Higher Shiite Council slams Sheikh Abbas Zogheib shooting

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) The Higher Shiite Islamic Council denounced Monday the shooting incident which targeted Sheikh Abbas Zogheib. Zogheib was taken to a hospital Saturday with severe chest and neck wounds after being shot in the Lailaki neighborhood in the southern suburbs of Beirut. In a statement, the council described the incident as “a criminal act by all means and an attack on the council which must not go unpunished,” calling on the security forces and the Army to pursue the perpetrators of the attack./149
