Palestinian human right center called on UN Security Council and international community to intervene to stop the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Gaza Strip due to the continued Israeli siege and power crisis.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Palestinian human right center called on UN Security Council and international community to intervene to stop the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Gaza Strip due to the continued Israeli siege and power crisis.

Himaya center for human rights stated that the restrictions imposed on fuel entry to Gaza would lead to a deep humanitarian crisis in the besieged strip.

The center pointed that the strip suffers since last Friday a very difficult humanitarian situation after the only power plant in Gaza has ground to a halt due to the fuel shortage in light the Israeli and Egyptian tightening restrictions on fuel and construction material's entry.

Services have been completely paralyzed in the strip, causing a deep social, economic and humanitarian crisis, the center added.

The human rights center pointed out that the fuel crisis prevented several employees and students from reaching their work places and universities, leading to a high unemployment rate.

In addition, the power and fuel crisis left affected negatively the public health services, the center continued.
