(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The head of Foreign Ministry's First Persian Gulf Office summoned the Saudi diplomat in absence of Saudi ambassador in Tehran to convey Iran's strong protest to Saudi government about alleged involvement of Iranian intelligence service in financing espionage network in Saudi Arabia.
The Iranian official categorically dismissed Saudi allegation and demanded explanations from the Saudi government.
He also raised Iran's protest to Saudi media claims and controversies.
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast had already dismissed Saudi claim that Iran had a link with an espionage network.
Saudi Arabia last week claimed that it had arrested 16 of its citizens along with an Iranian and a Lebanese national on charge of spying for a foreign country.
