Condemning the killings of people of the Hazara community in a bomb explosion attack in Quetta on February 16, Patron Pairwan-e-willayat Moulana Sibte Mohammad Shabir Qumi termed the act as "inhuman".

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - In a statement issued here, Qumi appealed Muslim Ummah to protest against the ‘genocide’ of Hazara people and demanded immediate and strict action against the killers. Strongly condemning the killings of Hazara people in Quetta, Qumi blamed the Pakistan government for utter failure in discharging its duty of protection of the citizens. "Government has failed till date to ensure the safety of innocent people of Hazara community, the genocide of these innocent people seems to have no end,” he said. He said that thousands of Hazaras have been killed in these brutal attacks in last few years and urged the government to initiate measures to curb the recurrence of such incidents in future. “Government of Pakistan must stop the killings of these innocent people. And whosoever is behind these attacks must be punished to death,” Qumi said. Nearly 90 people were killed in the attack on February 16. Different Shia organizations have staged a sit-in and protest demonstrations against the killing of Hazaras in Pakistan. The protesters blocked traffic and demanded immediate arrest of the accused. Protests were also held in Jammu and Kargil districts of J&K state against the killings of Hazara people.End item/ 149
