Palestine Center for Prisoners Studies confirmed that the number of deans of Palestinian prisoners ( who spent more than 20 years in Israeli jails) has risen to 73 prisoners.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Riyad al-Ashqar, a researcher at the center, revealed on Friday that two Palestinian prisoners have entered their 21st year in Israeli jails, bringing the number of deans of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails to 73 prisoners.

He explained that the number of deans of prisoners in Israeli jails has been continuously rising due to the presence of 106 prisoners who spent 18 years behind bars, including 57 prisoners from the West Bank, 26 prisoners from the Gaza Strip,14 prisoners from the territories occupied in 1948, and 9 Jerusalemite prisoners.

There are 24 prisoners who have been held for more than a quarter of a century and more, he added, pointing out that the prisoner Karim Younes is dean of Palestinian and Arab prisoners.

The center appealed to the Palestinian factions and leaders to activate the prisoners' issue, especially the issue of the prisoners on hunger strike.
