A huge explosion has rocked Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, killing several people including two Afghan guards.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The bombing was carried out in front of the gates of Afghanistan’s intelligence agency headquarters on Wednesday.The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack. “A large number of intelligence workers were killed and wounded,” the group said in a statement.Afghan officials say nearly 30 people were injured in the bomb attack.Meanwhile, reports say gunfire was also heard near the French embassy in the city.On Tuesday, the Taliban said it had shot down a US military helicopter in Afghanistan’s eastern province of Kunar. The militant group did not provide further details regarding the incident, and US military officials did not commented on the group’s claim.The United States invaded Afghanistan in 2001 under the pretext of combating terrorism. The offensive removed the Taliban from power, but insecurity remains despite the presence of thousands of foreign troops in the country. /129
