(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Pakistani top English news daily ˈThe Newsˈ said that Iranˈs Supreme Leader has said that Iran can overcome problems caused by ˈbarbaricˈ economic sanctions that western states have imposed over its nuclear programme.

‘Daily Times’ in its report said that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has accused the West of “lying” over its offer to lift sanctions in return for Iran furnishing guarantees to back its claims that its atomic programme is intended for civilian purposes only.
ˈThese sanctions are barbaric,ˈ he said.
‘Business Recorder’ reported that Iranˈs Supreme Leader has said ˈThe enemies — the US and some European governments — are nowadays linking the sanctions to (Iran’s pursuit) of nuclear energy. They are lying,” he said.
He argued that his country has been targeted by sanctions since the 1979 Islamic revolution for its “independence and resistance” against world powers.
Pakistan state television said that Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei terms European countries as foolish for supporting sanctions against Tehran.
He said Europeans are facing far more complicated economic problems.
Urdu newspapers Nawa-i-Waqt, Jang and Express have also reported the remarks of the Supreme Leader.
