Iraq: 8 wanted men detained in Baghdad, Tikrit, Diala

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Five wanted men were arrested on Friday in different parts of Baghdad, while three more wanted men were captured in Tikrit and Diala, the interior ministry said. "Baghdad police department arrested five wanted men in accordance with Article VI Terrorism Law in al-Doura, al-Latifiya and al-Mahmoudiya," Colonel Saad Maan, official spokesperson of the ministry, said. "The operation was launched in light of intelligence information," he added. "The forces found two pistols with silencers in al-Wehda neighborhood in Baghdad," he said, noting that three wanted men were detained in Diala and Tikrit. In Najaf, policemen managed to arrest a robbery gang red-handed, while police found in Diala a bomb-making factory./129
