(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Sixth Conference on proximity of Islamic schools of thought on the theme of “The Cultural Role of Proximity in Realization of Social Coexistence” wrapped up after it issued the final statement on Sunday September 29th. Muslim elites, thinkers and intellectuals expressed their views in this final statement including paragraphs on rejection of desecrating religious sanctities, vigilance against anti-Islam plots, supporting Palestine and its people and also supporting Muslim proximity, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA). The first paragraph in this statement stressed the importance of Islamic unity while the second paragraphs warn against plots to hijack the “The Islamic Awakening” and call that as “The Arab Spring”. An important paragraph in this statement rejects desecration of religious sanctities under the pretext of freedom of speech since the issue would violate social coexistence. According to this statement, freedom of speech is allowed as far as it does not violate the rights of the people. It refers to sectarianism, excommunication and violations as anti-Islamic moves demanding Muslim communities and leaders to confront the issues before they plague the whole Islamic nation. Muslim leaders and elites participating in this conference also demanded for introducing new solutions since the challenges ahead of proximity figures have grown either. According to this statement, Muslim nation is called for full support for the issue of Palestine. It also demanded for formation of a contact committee for communicating Syrian government and the opposition forces to find solutions based on Islamic principles. Still another part of the statement issued in the sixth conference of Muslim proximity underlined the role of women in realization of proximity among Islamic denominations. Conference on Muslim proximity was held in London wrapped up in Sunday 29th, 2012.
