(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Speaking in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit here in Tehran on Friday, the Chinese diplomat described the two countries' ties as "very good".
"We are eager to expand trade and economic relations and pave the ground for the expansion of the bilateral relations," Zhaoxu stated.
Salehi, for his part, said that Iran and China play complementary roles to each other, and noted, "Iran and China enjoy very good relations in all fields, and we are eager to further deepen and improve these ties."
In April, Iranian Vice-President Mohammad Javad Mohammadizadeh and China's Deputy Prime Minister Li Keqiang China underlined the two countries' resolve to boost trade exchanges to more than $50 billion annually.
Trade between the two countries in the past year was estimated at $45 billion.
