(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Addressing NAM Summit of Leaders on the second day session, he said all rights of the Syrian people should be observed and their demands should be heeded.
He strongly condemned financial and arms support for the rebel groups in Syria and said that Syria is a sovereign nation and the Syrian people should attain their legitimate rights.
On the issue of Palestine, he called for creation of an independent state saying that it will be vital for restoration of peace and security in the region, otherwise, restoration of peace will be at risk.
Pakistan has suffered a lot from terrorism, he said adding that over 50 people have been killed by terrorist groups and the government has spent huge sum of money to fight terrorism.
Pakistan has always backed the UN efforts to prevent proliferation of nuclear weapons, said the Pakistani president.
He said that NAM members never accept double-standard policies to this effect.
NAM members should indicate their commitment to UN principles on various issues such as multilateralism, he said calling for unity among member states in their campaign with colonialism and racism.
"Our success depends on our solidarity and cooperation," he said.
On current developments in Afghanistan, he said the country should be independent and foreign forces should not dictate their goals and ideals to Afghan people.
Current situation in Afghanistan is transient, he said adding that Afghanistan needs to achieve peace, tranquility and stability to overcome problems.
Withdrawal of international forces prepares ground for repatriation of Afghan refugees, he added.
""Drug trafficking in the region is regarded as a means to wage conflicts in the region. The international community should help Pakistan in its campaign against drug trafficking.""
Pakistan president also thanked Iran's hospitality and congratulated the Islamic Republic of Iran on assuming NAM chairmanship.
Referring to longstanding common grounds between the two nations, he called for expansion of relations and cooperation.
The 16th NAM Summit was inaugurated Thursday with a speech by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
