(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Speaking on the sidelines of the NAM ministerial meeting here in Tehran, Spokesman of the 16th NAM meeting Ramin Mehman-Parast said that the strong presence of the members heralds the movement's "good influence" on the international scene.
"Participation is very strong and at a high level in a way that it is equal to the meeting of foreign ministers at the United Nations," Mehman-Parast stated.
Top diplomats of the Non-Aligned Movement member states started their two-day discussions at the International Conference Hall of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) in Tehran Tuesday morning.
Iran assumed the rotating presidency of the NAM foreign ministers.
Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi assumed the presidency of the movement from Egypt's Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs and International Cooperation Ramzy Ezzeldin Ramzy.
NAM foreign ministers will draft a final document for the 16th NAM heads-of-state summit slated for August 30-31.
