“It is very important that all NAM member states cooperate with each other. The Movement must be viewed at as a whole in which all decisions are made with consensus of the members”, said Palitha T.B.Kohona, Sri Lankan representative to the UN.
“Relying on the principle of rule of law, the Movement can be able to diminish some issues like sanctions and unilateral decisions, and to change global power structure”, he specified.
Pointing to the potentiality of Tehran and its presidency over the Movement in the next three years for promoting NAM position in the world, the Sri Lankan expert explained: “Iran’s presidency over NAM in the years to come will surely leave positive impacts on the promotion of the Movement.”
“Sri Lanka has almost attended all NAM meetings. It seeks enhancement of the mutual relationships between Iran and Sri Lanka in the near future”, he concluded.
