(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The cultural exhibition titled ‘Iran’s Capabilities and Potentials in Tourism’ is slated to be held in Tehran’s Milad tower on the sidelines of the NAM summit, said deputy head of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHTO) for Tourism Affairs Manouchehr Jahanian.
The Iranian Handicrafts Union is also planning to distribute about 20,000 copies of the country’s tourism catalogues on Persian handicrafts among NAM delegations.
The NAM summit is an excellent opportunity to introduce Iranian traditional art and handicrafts to foreign guests, ISNA quoted the official in charge of the catalogues, Mostafa Khoshabi as saying.
“The catalogues are available in four different languages: English, Arabic, Spanish and Chinese,” Khoshabi explained.
Miniature, intarsia, earthenware, embroidery, jewelry, kilims, glassworks, inlaid works and embossed works are some of the Iranian handicrafts introduced in the catalogues.
NAM, an international organization with 120 member states and 21 observer countries, is considered as not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc.
The 16th summit of the NAM member states that kicks off on August 26 in the Iranian capital, Tehran, will run until August 31, 2012.
