Approximately 12 million visitors arrived in Karbala, with an additional 4-5 million expected during the coming two days to commemorate on Friday and Saturday the 40th day of mourning of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (pbuh), the Deputy Provincial Chairman said today.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Approximately 12 million visitors arrived in Karbala, with an additional 4-5 million expected during the coming two days to commemorate on Friday and Saturday the 40th day of mourning of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (pbuh), the Deputy Provincial Chairman said today. Nsaif Jassim al-Khitabi told Aswat al-Iraq that the preliminary statistics reported that 11-12 million visitors entered the city during the last ten days, most of whom have completed their religious rituals and returned home. He added that 3-4 million visitors are now on their way to the holy city of Karbala; the final figure is expected to reach 15 million in total. It is expected that the peak of the visitors will be received this coming Friday and Saturday. He added that all services are ready to receive this figure of visitors./129
