(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The demonstrations were held on Thursday after Saleh loyalists attacked protesters in Taizz, killing at least nine people.
The demonstrators also denounced a recent deal, brokered by the (Persian) Gulf Cooperation Council ([P]GCC), which granted Saleh immunity from prosecution in return for stepping down from power after 33 years of iron-fist rule in the impoverished state.
According to the ([P]GCC) agreement, the newly appointed Prime Minister Mohamed Basindwato is tasked with forming a unity government.
Under the new unity government, ministries of defense, foreign affairs and oil will be controlled by loyalists of Saleh, while the ministries of information, interior and finance will be in the hands of the opposition
Protesters, however, condemned the latest agreement, arguing that the deal aims to turn the revolution into a political stalemate between the regime and the opposition.
Meanwhile, protesters have called on people to take part in Friday's demonstrations dubbed "The Friday of Independence."
Hundreds of people have been killed and thousands more have been injured in Yemen since the beginning of the uprising against the Saleh regime in late January.
