(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Two Iranian are creating the world's largest mosaic Qur'an under the supervision of a monitoring group selected by Dar al-Qur'an Institute.
Hesam al-din Ardani and Javad Asghari began their work in early 2011 and expect the art piece to be ready in about a year from now.
The work will be completed with the estimated cost of $370,000 and will comprise 78 sheets and 151 pages of 1.23 by 2.45 meters.
The sheets are made of sour orange tree wood, ISNA quoted Ardani as saying.
The text of the holy book will be penned in Osman Taha calligraphic style and will be adorned by a unique illumination by veteran artist Ebrahim Moradi.
Ardani also said that all the expenses will be paid by the private section.
