(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) -  In a step aimed at demonstrating the Palestinians’ right to the land, locals in Shuafat refugee camp in northeast Jerusalem held Friday prayers this week on land planned to be used by the Israeli apartheid barrier .Worshipers from across the occupied city of Jerusalem arrived for prayers in response to calls by national forces and the local anti-apartheid barrier committee. The preacher, Sheikh Abdullah Alqam, coordinator of the Palestinian clans general secretariat, urged the faithful to be steadfast in their lands and assured that the Jerusalemites would not be phased in defending Jerusalem. One outstanding citizen spoke after prayers saying the barrier thwarted Palestinians from reaching the holy city in the framework of a plan aimed at Judaizing Jerusalem. The measure came in the wake of the Israeli occupation authorities’ decision to confiscate large areas of the Shuafat refugee camp to be used for the apartheid barrier and to further expand a checkpoint situated at the entrance of the Jerusalem neighborhood./129
