(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - A forum on Islam and culture was held by governor of Kizilyurt, the Republic of Dagestan, on September 26 at the central library of the city.
The role of cultural institutes in fostering spiritual and moral education of the young generation was discussed at the program with the presence of religious and cultural figures and activists in cultural fields.
The forum was also attended by X.Berkixanov, deputy of the governor, A. Mohammadov, Imam's assistant of the grand mosque of the city and A. Mohammadrasul Ava, Imam's deputy, who separately investigated and clarified the role of Islam in revival of spiritual and moral values in society.
In the course of centuries, Muslims, currently forming 90.6% percent of population, have lived in Dagestan, a federal subject (a republic) of Russia, located in the North Caucasus region.
