(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran criticized the US Administration policy towards Syria, regretting that some countries and parties close to Washington are sending weapons to Syria to escalate the situation inside it.
In an interview with the American ABC channel on the sidelines of the 66th annual meeting of the UN General Assembly, Ahmadinejad said that Washington's behavior doesn't help in solving problems but rather complicates them, criticizing the US contradicted stances towards the events in the region.
The Iranian President added that his country supports dialogue in Syria and implementing reforms without any foreign interference.
On the efforts exerted to form an independent Palestinian state, President Ahmadinejad considered this as the first step to liberate the whole Palestinian territories.
Regarding the future of the Iranian-American relations, the Iranian President said the Iranian foreign policy is based on friendship and fraternity with all the countries of the world, reminding that it was the US government which broke its relationship with Iran.
He expressed Iran's readiness to positively deal with the US and start dialogue with it according to fair conditions based on respect.
