Imam Khamenei grants clemency to prisoners

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has agreed to grant clemency to 100 prisoners. Tehran Prosecutor General Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi announced on Saturday that the Leader had ordered the early release or a reduction in the prison sentences of 100 prisoners convicted of security-related crimes, the Fars news agency reported. Dolatabadi stated that the prisoners who have been granted clemency repented of the crimes they committed. The official said that 70 of the prisoners are scheduled to be released on Saturday night./129
