(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Israel has been embarrased by the Islamic Awakening movements in the Middle East and North Africa, Hamas representative to Tehran said on Tuesday.

Khaled al-Qaddoumi said that there is difference between this year’s Qods Day and the Qods Days of the previous years citing the prevalent Islamic Awakening movements in the region.

He hoped that the coincidence of Islamic Awakening movements in the region with the Qods day, would result in the freedom of Quds from the Israeli occupation.

“The Zionist regime aggression on the Sinai Desert in the past decades and recent murder of five Egyptian soldiers by the air attacks last week proved that Tel Aviv has much more aggressive plans against its neighbors and is not bound to the regional or international agreements,” he said.

Qaddoumi called for the Muslim countries’ unity, the best way to end the Zionist occupation of the Palestinian territories.

The Qods Day is an annual event on the last Friday of Ramadan, to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and opposing the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and Zionist regime's control of the holy Qods Beitul Moqaddas.
