(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Israeli occupation authorities released on Thursday evening two prominent Hamas figures; Mustafa al-Shinnar, lectrurer at Njah university in Nablus, and Yaser Dardasawi, a refugee’s rights activist from the Balata refugee camp east of Nablus.
Human rights sources told PIC that the two were held in administrative detention at the Megiddo jail and that Shinnar’s health deteriorated before their release.
The sources said that said that Shinnar who was arrested on 7 June and sentenced to 4 months administrative detention won an appeal at the Ofer appeals court, which ordered his release on Thursday morning after the military prosecutor failed to convince the court of the charges in Shinnar’s “secret file” and after examining his medical file.
The sources added that Dardasawi who was arrested on 2 June and kept in administrative detention was released after the occupation intelligence failed to provide an indictment list or a secret file against him.
The same sources commented on the release of Shinnar and Dardasawi saying that the action proves that the occupation randomly arrests Palestinian leaders, academics and activists as a way to keeping Palestinians under pressure.
