(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Sadr made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Afghanistan Deputy Parliament Rafiullah Gul Afghan in Tehran. The two sides called for enhanced economic cooperation and activation of Iran-Afghanistan parliamentary friendship group. Sadr said that Iran and Afghanistan enjoy cultural affinities and have common language and that the ethnic groups would play a vital role in bolstering ties between two nations. Expressing dismay at military presence of foreigners in Afghanistan, he said that they attempted to sow discord among neighboring countries to achieve their ominous plots against the nations. Gul Afghan, for his part, described Islamic Republic of Iran as a united nation which has stood on its own in the past 32 years. He said Iran has a vital role in Afghanistan’s prosperity, calling for exchange of experience between Tehran and Kabul in all arenas.
