Iranian General: 7300 Martyrs' Corpses Not Discovered Yet

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Chief of the Foundation for Preservation of Holy Works and Values of Sacred Defense Era stated that the bodies of more than 7300 martyrs of Sacred Defense Era have not been discovered yet and he said: “The procedure of agreements with the Iraqi government is not satisfactory in the field of searching the dead bodies of the Iran-Iraq war era martyrs, so we expect the Iraqi government to have more cooperation and collaboration with us for this purpose.”        

Commander Brigadier General ‘Mohammad Bagher Zadeh’, the Chief of the Foundation for Preservation of Holy Works and Values of Sacred Defense Era regarding the final searches that have been done in order to find the bodies of the Iran-Iraq war era martyrs and he mentioned: “We will continue our work to find the bodies of the martyrs as long as we find the bodies of all the martyrs.”

 He added: “Announcing the exact schedule to search the bodies of the martyrs that have not been found until now is dependent to the readiness of environment by Iraqi authorities for the issue of searching the bodies.”

 The Chief of the Foundation for Preservation of Holy Works and Values of Sacred Defense Era notified: “Despite of initial announcement for investigation and searches, still the condition is not provided for this work and we have done only the primary negotiations until now.”

 Commander Bagher Zadeh announced about his imminent trip to Iraq to follow the negotiations for searching the bodies of Iran-Iraq war era martyrs and he mentioned: “We will trip to Iraq at the end of Sha’ban Month to negotiate with the Iraqi authorities regarding this matter, so that we will start the work of digging and searching the war zones after that.”

 He pointed out to this issue that no final agreement has been concluded with the Iraqi side until now and he outlined: “The procedure of agreements with the Iraqi government is not satisfactory in the field of searching the dead bodies of the Iran-Iraq war martyrs, so we expect the Iraqi government to have more cooperation and collaboration with us for this purpose.”

 The Chief of the Foundation for Preservation of Holy Works and Values of Sacred Defense Era announced that more than 7300 bodies of martyrs have not been discovered until now and he mentioned: “The bodies of 7000 Iranian martyrs have remained in the territories of Iraq and about 300 bodies have been left in the territories of Iran which have not been found until now.”
