(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - A senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said that Iran keeps its finger on the trigger as a deterrent tactic, and stressed that the country's Armed Forces will use their maximum power in repelling enemy threats.
"…in case of threat, we use all our military and defensive power and confront aggressors powerfully," said Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Ground Forces for Coordination General Abolqassem Foroutan.
"As the Commander-in-Chief (Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei) has emphasized, our fingers should be kept on the trigger for deterrence," Foroutan noted.
He added that the artillery units of the IRGC, like its other units, are fully prepared to confront the US military bases in the region.
Earlier, Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh said that the US fleets of warships are no longer a threat to Iran since the IRGC now enjoys the capability to hit all US vessels and bases in the region.
He also underlined Iran's missile capabilities, and stated that about 70% of the US bases in the region are maximum 300 to 400 kilometers away from Iran, meaning that all of them are within the scope of the IRGC's short and mid-range missiles.
The Iranian commanders have underlined that Iran would not confine itself to blocking the Strait of Hormuz if any act of aggression is committed against the country.
