Ten-day Waqf Programs Conclude in Bosnia & Herzegovina

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - They included special religious and cultural programs carried out by the country’s Awqaf Mashikhat Eslami (the office for Muslims affairs).  The programs started under the supervision of Ismat Sabahij, deputy of Bosnia’s Muslim Scholars Department, from June 17 in the cities of Sarajevo and Mostar.  Releasing books on Waqf (religious endowment) such as “Awqaf and Institutes” by Sinad Chiman was among the programs of the ten days. The book is the first research work about the status of Waqf, its related laws, and Islamic institutes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.  Other programs included a seminar titled “Role of Waqf in Development of Bosnia’s Cities”, the release of the book “Companions of Waqf in Sarajevo and Its Endowments” by Farid Davudevij, mounting an exhibition titled “Waqf in Sarajevo, from Past to Present”, and implementation of Waqf plans in Mostar./129
