(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - On Wednesday, the demonstrators repeated their calls for the abolition of the absolute monarchy system that has ruled the country for over 40 years.
Last March, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates deployed police and military forces to the tiny kingdom upon Manama's request to help crush the protest rallies, which started in mid-February.
Scores of people have been killed and many others have been arrested in the Saudi-backed suppression.
Opposition groups in Bahrain say hundreds of people have been put on trial for their role in the demonstrations.
The opposition claims that the detained protesters have been tortured and say their trials are unfair and politically motivated.
Dozens of Bahraini medical workers arrested for treating wounded protesters have also been put on trial.
Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has expressed concern over the Bahraini regime's decision to bring the medical personnel to court.
On Monday, a Bahraini military court tried 48 doctors, nurses, and paramedics, who are accused of supporting anti-government protesters. They face a host of charges, including attempting to overthrow the monarchy, possessing weapons, and stealing medicine.
The defendants have all pleaded not guilty.
