It was the first major attack in Iraq since U.S. forces killed Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in Pakistan on Sunday.
Iraqi security forces have been on high alert since bin Laden's death. Security officials said the terrorist organization's local branch, which is considered its most radical wing, was likely to carry out revenge attacks.
