(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - On the morning of March 18, 2011, Bahrain government tore down the Pearl Roundabout (Lulu), announcing on state television that the site had to be "cleansed", In an attempt to remove all symbols and memories of the revolution.

The Pearl Roundabout is the ongoing site of demonstrations during the 2011 Bahraini protests, which began in February. It has been compared by the protesters to Cairo's Tahrir Square, the main site of demonstrations during the 2011 Egyptian revolution.
