(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Iran's head of Assembly of Experts condemned US for ignoring human rights saying human rights has turned into an excuse for the United States to suppress nations while US itself does not obey that.
Iranian top cleric and Chairman of Assembly of Experts, Ayatollah Mohammadreza Mahdavi Kani, blamed western countries particularly the United States of America for its human rights claims.
"Firstly we have to come to a common definition for human rights." said senior cleric and added, "Secondly, Does America who claims to be the defendant of human rights carry out the law?"
Dean of Imam Sadiq (AS) University also said, "Human Rights is merely an excuse for US to suppress nations whenever it wishes to." and asked, "If US is a defendant of Human Rights then why is it cooperating with Saudi Arabia, Libya and Israel? Is Human Rights carried out in these countries?"
This is a proof on US's human rights to be a mere lie, according to the top cleric who slammed US for its policy and said, "What is the logic behind the policy that a country is called pro human rights only when it is in good terms with America?"
Ayatollah Mohammdreza MAhdavi Kani is a top cleric, writer and current chairman of Assembly of Experts which elects and supervises the Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic of Iran.
