QOM, Iran (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Society of Qom Seminary Teachers issued a statement on Thursday expressing support for the oppressed Muslims in Bahrain and censured Saudi Arabia for sending troops to Bahrain to “kill Muslim brothers”.
“The shocking reports about the cruel massacre of Bahraini Muslims and the wounding of a large number of them causes pain in the heart of any vigilant Muslim or philanthropist,” the statement read.
The government of Saudi Arabia which has always considered itself the custodian of Haramain Sharifain (two Holy Mosques) is preparing the ground for “fratricide” and realizing the wishes of the enemies of Islam, the statement added.
Elsewhere in their statement the religious scholars said, “Leader of Islamic states must take lessons from the fate of Ben Ali and Mubarak”.
The clerical body also called on the international bodies to break their silence toward the killing of people in Bahrain. It said international bodies including the UN Security Council which always “beat the drums of democracy and human rights” are silent toward the massacre of Muslims.
Saudi Arabia has sent troops to Bahrain to put down popular uprising for democracy.
