(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Musavat party applied to the executive power of Baku to sanction a rally to be held from Prague restaurant near the Neftchiler subway station to the Tabriz cinema through Gara Garayev Avenue. However, based on Article 7 of the Azerbaijani Law on Freedom of Assembly and in the purpose of public security and other citizens’ rights protection, they were offered to change the route heading to a stadium in Bibiheybat. They were officially notified, the Interior Ministry reported.
The party leaders refused to follow Article 12 of the Azerbaijani Law to take their utmost to hold a peaceful and sanctioned rally and to follow the terms indicated in the warning letter. In this manner, they once more demonstrate their interest in confrontation with the government organizations, the Ministry reported.
At 2:00 pm the small groups of action supporters with the total number of 150 violated the public security and attempted to hold a rally on the Fountain Square through the Nizami street. The rally was prevented.
Fifty people were detained. The statement were drawn and sent to corresponding agencies with regard to 20 people because of disobeying police. The other 30 people were given an official warning and set free.
