(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Speaking on Thursday in a visit to the Intelligence ministry, Imam Khamenei attended an exhibition of the latest advances, achievements and activities of the ministry, and praised the sincere, careful and thoughtful efforts of the ministry's personnel , and said the intelligence ministry is one of only a “limited number” of organizations which emerged from the Islamic Revolution.
In further remarks, Imam Khamenei called for safeguarding the solid performance and unity of the Intelligence ministry, and stressed the necessity of the ministry rising above factional considerations (factional politics), maintaining an unbiased perspective, always being accurate in its assessments, being very sensitive to enemy efforts to infiltrate and influence, being watchful of misguided so-called intellectual and political groups, and always making best use of its highly talented and experienced staff.
Imam Khamenei said: "One of the most prominent and praiseworthy features of Iran’s intelligence ministry is that it is totally indigenous, home-grown, and has not tried to model itself on any other intelligence agency or organization in the world."
Turning to the wave of Islamic awakening in the middle east and north Africa region, Imam Khamenei said this is a huge event, and an extremely important development. He added: “The events currently taking place in this region will undoubtedly have a profound effect and influence on the future of the world . Thus, it is essential that we keep a close eye on the events taking place in this region, and actively study its many aspects and dimensions”.
Imam Khamenei said the wave of Islamic awakening currently sweeping this region, is undoubtedly inspired by Iran’s Islamic revolution, and is a direct result of the resilience of the Iranian nation.
