(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - A new satellite channel featuring Quranic programs is to be launched in the near future, an official with the World Foundation for Quran Memorization said.
According to Naseej website, the satellite channel, titled Ahl-ul-Quran, has been on air since last year’s holy month of Ramadan (September 2010).
Nabil bin Abdul-Aziz, head of the TV channel said it will be officially launched in the near future in a ceremony attended by Saudi Minister of Culture and Information Abdul-Aziz Khuja and Secretary General of the Muslim World League Dr. Abdullah bin Abdelmohsin Al-Turki.
He said it broadcasts various programs with Quranic themes and covers Quranic activities carried out in Saudi Arabia as well as elsewhere in the world. Earlier this year, the Ahl-ul-Quran TV broadcast live the Abdul-Aziz Quran Competitions held at Masjid-ul-Haram in the holy city of Makkah.
