(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - He stressed that there are numerous examples in Imam Musa Sadr’s life demonstrating the role of the Noble Quran in his successes and achievements.
Many prominent figures are known for their Quranic activities through their works and their disciples. For instance, Allameh Balaghi who wrote the Ala Ar-Rahman Exegesis, Mirza Javad Agha Tehrani with his Quran exegesis as well as grand Ayatollah Khoee, grand Ayatollah Sabzevari, and Grand Ayatollah Sobhani, he noted.
“But Imam Musa Sadr’s Quranic character was manifested as a Muslim leader of the Arab world, especially in Lebanon, and also in the current status of the Islamic resistance movement, Hezbollah,” Hojat-ol-Islam Nurollahian stated. “He interpreted the Quran through his life, and let the teachings of the Quran enter his soul and existence.
“Musa Sadr was born into a Quranic family, that of grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadreddin Sadr, a family you can regard as the most Quranic one among the families of scholars and sources of emulation. All members of the Sadr family strived for promotion and development of Quranic teachings and did great services in this field.”
Elsewhere in his remarks, Hojat-ol-Islam Nurollahian referred to Imam Musa Sadr’s Hijra (migration) from Iran to Lebanon as a Quranic Hijra.
“He was a student of law at the University of Tehran and at the same time a Mujtahid (Islamic scholar) at Qom seminary. He was a man whose life was based on the teachings of Quran. He embarked on his Hijra to Lebanon based on these very teachings, based on Quranic verses about peace, war, defending the oppressed, justice, and resistance against oppressors.”
Elsewhere in his remarks, Hojat-ol-Islam Nurollahian said that Imam Musa Sadr, due to his spiritual growth based on Quranic teachings, created a huge movement in the Middle East and became known to the world as an exceptional leader. “His leadership brought about social developments and great political phenomena like resistance against Zionism and creation of Islamic Amal Movement.
“Inspired by the teachings of the holy book, he stressed the importance of Islamic unity and proximity and made a lot of endeavors to promote Islamic unity. Whenever asked about his achievement in strengthening unity in Lebanon, he would say he was encouraged by the verse ‘And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves’ (Holy Quran, 3:103).”
Hojat-ol-Islam Nurollahian also referred to Imam Musa Sadr’s role in promotion of the status of Shia Muslims in Lebanon and said today many of influential scientists and scholars in the fields of Islamic teachings, medicine, law, and insudtry are Shias thanks to Imam Musa Sadr’s endeavors.
