Inaugurated by Strasbourg's Municipal deputy in Religious Affairs, Olivier Bitz, the new center comes in line with the city's policy aiming to meet Muslim needs, reported “oumma” news center.
The city has resumed construction of the Grand Mosque of Strasbourg, he said, adding that the launch of a public cemetery dedicated to Muslims constitutes another plan carried out by the Municipality in this regard.
Unhappy with the rise of Islamophobia and racial discrimination across Europe, officials in Strasbourg have been making efforts in favor of cultural diversity, mutual understanding, as well as practice of freedom of religion among followers of different faiths.
