In his word, Berri said the Union should support the Arab regimes in order to take decisions that allow the Arab arena be more free, and turn the political detention centers to schools for teaching democracy.
Berri stressed "The Arab peoples have the capability now to acknowledge Arab regimes through the election process, which constitutes a source of strength to them;" adding that "oppression will only lead to rejection, objection, and revolution."
The Speaker further demanded issuing a resolution "to consider the "Israeli" occupation as rejected and unjust," pointing out that such a resolution assures the right of the Palestinian people and their freedom.
On another note, Berri praised the efforts of the efforts on prosecuting those behind the Alexandria church attack, noting that this crime and the Nigeria explosion crime hold the same terrorist fingerprints. He warned of the schemes being plotted to divide the region.
Also, Berri said that the anticipated new (Lebanese) government will likely emerge within a week to be the "speediest formation".
"Matters are heading in the right direction. I think the issue (of government formation) is not tied to a certain day or a specific date," Berri told Lebanese reporters as he arrived in Qatar.
"I also think that the birth of this government will be the fastest ... Matters are going on steadily," he added.
Addressing the March 14 forces position towards the formation of the government, Berri said: "We will see what they will propose, but I believe that Phalange Party leader Amin Gemayel's statements on the matter are acceptable."
