(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Sultan Qaboos Centre for Islamic Culture (SQCIC) announced the opening of 21st edition of Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran memorization competition for the participants.
Ali Bin Abdullah Al Saqri, Deputy Director of Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran memorization competition at the centre, said those interested to take part in this competition have to fill specified application form, which is available at the Sultan Qaboos mosques in Nizwa, Ibra, Ibri, Adam, Sohar, Rustaq, Diba, Sur and Salalah, as well as, Sultan Said Bin Taimour Mosque in Al Khuwair, Sayyid Tariq Bin Taimour Mosque in Al Khoud, Awqaf and Religious Affairs office in Duqm and Suwaiq, in addition to, the Islamic Science Institute in Buraimi and Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan, and the Niyabat of Sinaw Mosque.
The deadline for submitting the applications are March 30, while the primary qualification rounds will begin from April 19 and the final qualification round will be on April 23.
Al Saqri said the centre opened its new office in Duqm to encourage the citizens in Al Wusta region to register and take exams in their region contrary to the previous years when they use to go to Al Dakhiliyah region.
The competition is based on five levels, namely memorizing the Holy Quran as a whole with reciting, memorizing 24 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran with reciting one part, memorizing 18 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran with reciting one part, memorizing 12 consecutive part of the Holy Quran with reciting one part and memorizing six consecutive parts of the Holy Quran with reciting. The participants in this level should be born in 1995 and after.
