Chief of the Council of Russian Muftis Sheikh Rawi Ayn al-Din has praised relations between Iranian and Russian Islamic organizations.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Chief of the Council of Russian Muftis Sheikh Rawi Ayn al-Din has praised relations between Iranian and Russian Islamic organizations.

“Cooperation between Iranian and Russian Islamic organizations is deep-rooted, friendly, and mutually benefitting,” IRNA quoted Moscow's Friday prayers leader as saying on Friday.

“Russian Muslims are always ready for cooperation with Iran, and we are convinced this mutual understanding is a guarantee for the development of ties between the two countries,” Sheikh Ayn al-Din added.

“The Council of Russian Muftis is Iran's reliable partner in Russia and international Islamic organizations,” he went on to say.

“We are very happy with the development of political, cultural, and economic ties between Iran and Russia, and we believe this will bring about the consolidation of brotherly relations between the Muslims in the two countries.”

Sheikh Ayn al-Din also condemned the recent terrorist attack that killed dozens and injured more than 100 at Moscow's Domodedovo International Airport.

At least 35 people lost their lives and another 130 were injured after a massive explosion ripped through the international arrivals hall of Domodedovo airport last week.

“A terrorist is a criminal, and terrorist acts are considered a sin by Muslims,” he concluded.
