During a visit to New York, Hariri urged UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to step up pressure on Israel over its violations of the Lebanese border, Reuters reported on Monday.
The premier insisted on the "full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701," that brought an end to Israel's 33-day war on south Lebanon in the summer of 2006.
The resolution called on Tel Aviv to halt unauthorized flights over Lebanese territory.
Hariri "requested the utmost pressure on Israel to cease its violations in the air, on land and at sea," a member of the Lebanese premier's delegation said on condition of anonymity.
"He also said Lebanon is relying on the United Nations to prevent Israeli infringement of Lebanon's exclusive economic zone, including regarding oil and gas resources."
Last week, Lebanon sent the UN chief a letter, asking him to ensure that Israel's plans to drill for gas in the Mediterranean Sea do not encroach on its own offshore reserves.
UN spokesman Martin Nesirky, however, said Resolution 1701 does not cover delineating Lebanon's maritime border.
