(AhlulBayt News Agency) - On the eve of Ashoura, mourning ceremonies commemorating the martyrdom of the thrid Imam of Shiite Muslims, Imam Hussein (PBUH), were held in the Husseiniyeh of Imam Khomeini in Tehran, attended by the Leader of the Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Mourners from all walks of life, clad in black, attended the mourning ceremonies, with eulogies and lamentations for the Chief of martyrs, Aba Abdollah Al-Hussein (PBUH) being sung by the mourners.
A number of senior Iranian government officlas also attended these mourning ceremonies.
The mourning ceremonies in the Husseiniyeh of Imam Khomeini will continue until Friday 11th of Moharram.
