Presidium member of the party Syed Fazlul Karim on Saturday said, "Obscene dance was performed in front of trainee imams at the Islamic Foundation auditorium on Nov 27 in the name of introducing them to American culture."
He blamed director general of the foundation Shamim Mohammad Afzal over the matter and demanded his expulsion. "Such un-Islamic behaviour cannot be allowed as the incident has not only trampled religious values but also disgraced us in the Muslim world," he added.
Karim mentioned the electoral pledges of the Awami League, saying, "The ruling party vowed that it will not pass any law against Koran-Sunnah or Islam. But the reality is just the opposite, after they came to power."
He slated the government for its alleged 'conspiracy' to ban religion-based parties and urged the people to protest it.
Regarding the national education policy, Karim claimed that religious education was denied in the curriculum.
He also questioned who the government wanted to satisfy by formulating such a policy, saying "it is against the sentiment of the 90 percent of the country's population".
Karim also demanded government steps to resolve power and gas crisis, and price hike.
