(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Syrian ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul Karim Ali confirmed to Al-Manar on Friday that the Syrian-Saudi efforts to resolve the Lebanese crisis were ongoing, expressing hope that the efforts would be fruitful and would end up with a Lebanese agreement. The Syrian ambassador said that Syrian President Bashar Assad and Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz were both concerned with the Lebanese situation. “They are aware of the sensitivity of the situation in the Lebanon and the dangerous plots prepared for Lebanon and the region,” he said. While expressing hope that the Lebanese consensus would be the major fruit of the Syrian-Saudi efforts, the Syrian ambassador called on the Lebanese not to bet on foreigners. He said that the angry voices in the US administration reflect the American unrealistic understanding of the situation on the ground.
