Imam Khamenei has urged Iranian youth to help develop mosques as a center for worship and spiritual salvation.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also is present in the gathering in which over 750 individuals from 31 Iranian provinces have participated.
Representatives of the country’s cultural and administrative bodies including education minister are attending the event.
'Based on the Islamic teachings, an Islamic mosque is a symbol of combining the material and eternal worlds and a symbol of relating individuals to the society,' said Imam Khamenei in his message.
Imam Khamenei stressed that having 'easy access to the Islamic mosque' was a must for the present generation, the youth in particular.
