(AhlulBayt News Agency) - IT is the duty of every Muslim and the Ummah to come forward and help their flood affected brethrens in Pakistan, said Mohammad Yehia Omar, an Egyptian national and assistant general manager of operations at  Al Rostamani International Exchange.

This was during his meeting with the Consul General of Pakistan, Tariq Iqbal Soomro , in Dubai on Monday afternoon, where they exchanged views on the post-flood situation in the country and the rehabilitation works that need to be carried out in the areas.

Consul General Soomro explained that now that the flood waters have receded, the larger task of rehabilitating the displaced flood victims has begun.

He pointed out that this is a challenge which Pakistan can only undertake with the support of the international community particularly the Muslim Ummah. He expressed hope that the Muslim world would continue to support the government and the people of Pakistan in the same way as they have been, during the first phase of rescue operations.

He said that Pakistan is extremely grateful to the leadership of Muslim world, particularly to Saudi Arabia and the UAE for standing beside the Pakistani people during the worst floods that the country has witnessed.

Omar also presented a cheque to the Prime Minister’s flood relief fund on behalf of the Al Rostamani International Exchange group. The Consul General thanked them for their cooperation and expressed hope that with the support of the Muslim brethren, Pakistan would soon be able to overcome the  crisis successfully.
