Ahlul Bayt News Agency ; The secretary general of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) arrived in New York on Monday.
Secretary General Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu will participate in the 65th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.
Foreign ministers of OIC member states will convene at the UN headquarters on September 24 for an annual coordination meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
İhsanoğlu will hold bilateral talks with heads of state and foreign ministers of participating countries, and attend OIC-European Union (EU) Troika Meeting, and meetings concerning OIC member states.
The secretary general will also participate in meetings on Palestine, Iraq, Somalia, Kashmir, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sierra Leone.
İhsanoğlu will open the new building of OIC's Representation to the UN, and make speeches in many think-tank organizations.
Proceeding to Chicago, İhsanoğlu is expected to discuss situation of Muslim minority in the region; and deliver opening remarks of a conference on situation of Muslim in the United States.
