According to Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir) – The Muslim leaders were keen on expressing support for communal unity and said the incidents in Kashmir and Punjab were stray incidents executed by people who did not know anything about the teachings of Islam.
Maulana Abdul Jabbar Azmi, president of the Ulema Federation of India, Maulana Mehmood Daryabadi, general secretary of the All India Ulema Council. Dr Asimuddin, President, Movement for Human Welfare, Farid Batatawala, president, Muslim Front,Dr Azimuddin president, Movement for Human Welfare, M A Khalid, Secretary , All India Milli Council and others gave a call for peace and harmony. Maulana Azmi said the guilty should be brought to book.
