Ahlul Bayt News Agency ; Secretary of the congress Mohsen Sadeghi said: it would be organized by the Qomi Writers Cultural-Research Institute on the occasion of the 70th demise anniversary of Sheikh Abbas Qomi.
“It aims to honor the great religious and scientific character of the late Shia scholar and discuss ways to promote his thoughts and ideas, which is a cultural need of our society,” he noted.
Mr. Sadeghi invited scholars and researchers to contribute to the congress by sending papers on six main themes: Quran Interpretation and Quranic Sciences, Hadith and Rijal, Ethics and rules, History and Seerah, Scientific Works of Sheikh Abbas Qomi, and relatives of Sheikh Abbas Qomi.
The deadline for submitting papers is October 7, he went on to say.
Born in 1877 in the holy city of Qom, Sheikh Abbas Qomi was a great Shia scholar and author of numerous books in Arabic and Persian. He passed away in 1940 in Najaf, Iraq.
